Summary:PURPOSE:To easily record the results of flaw detection by mounting a recorder which electrically takes out the outputs corresponding to the varying sizes of large, medium or small defects and operates based on the signals thereof to a wave transmitting probe in a manner as to move cooperatively with the probe. CONSTITUTION:A wave transmitting probe 1 and a receiving probe 2 are moved equidistantly in mutually opposite directions from a ground line, whereby the entire area of a weld zone C is detected for flaws. The electric signals from the transmitting probe and the receiving probe are inputted to an ultrasonic flaw detector 3, which detects the size of the flaws of the weld zone based on said signal and lights defect display lamps 3A-3C. A recorder 4 for the results of the flaw detection is provided with a pen supporting table 5 which moves cooperatively with the probes. The table 5 supports a purality of pens 7A-7C which display by segmenting the degrees of the defects of the weld zone. The pens 7A-7C are operated by the output signals corresponding to the degrees of the defects of the weld zone from the ultrasonic flaw detector and record the positions and degrees of the defects on recording paper 10.
