Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the title device capable of continuously making a hollow yarn membrane partially hydrophilic by vertically traveling the hollow yarn membrane on a grooved roller deposited with a hydrophilicity-imparting soln. and microscopically eliminating variance in hydrophilicity between the parts of the hollow yarn. CONSTITUTION:The hollow yarn membrane 1 is traveled from the upper guide 2 toward the lower guide 3. The roller 4 with the surface uniformly grooved is rotated so that the surface to be brought into contact with the hollow yarn membrane 1 is traveled in the same direction as the membrane. Consequently, the hydrophilicity-imparting agent in a vessel 5 is entrained by the roller, and the agent deposited on the part except the grooved part is removed by a squeeze roller 6. The agent remaining in the grooved part is brought into contact with the hollow yarn and transferred to the hollow yarn membrane. Although the hollow yarns can be treated one at a time, plural hollow yarns can be bundled into sheet and treated en bloc.
