Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain an image display device for providing clear images with no vertical lines by arranging, ahead of laser junction, apertures smaller than the diameter of a laser beam on the welding part of an electron beam acceleration auxiliary electrode. CONSTITUTION:Apertures 35 smaller than the diameter of a laser beam are provided on the bar 33 of an electron beam acceleration auxiliary electrode 32 which is to be welded to an electron beam acceleration electrode 30. Then, positioning of either laser or work is made in the apertures 35 to be irradiated 34 by laser to weld electron beam acceleration electrode 30 to electron beam acceleration auxiliary electrode 32. This allows beams to pass through the electron beam acceleration auxiliary electrode 32 without causing distortion in its passage, thus causing no beam deflection, and enabling to obtain an image display device providing clear images with no vertical lines.
