Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent a scanning head from being levitated, by fitting the scanning head to an elongate body fitted over a pair of pulleys, under the condition where the elongate body is in offset condition relative to a free condition in which the head is not fitted thereto. CONSTITUTION:When a photosensitive material 16 drawn out from a magazine 14 is wound around a rotary drum 20 after being cut by a cutter 18, the drum 20 is rotated at high speed, and an exposure head 22 starts exposure using light-emitting elements 48. Simultaneously, pulleys 56, 58 causes the exposure head 22 to move in a sub-scanning direction, whereby a surface for exposure of the material 16 is exposed to light of a color image. Since the exposure head 22 is energized toward a guide shaft 52 by a wire 54 fitted in an offset condition, the head 22 is prevented from being levitated from the guide shaft 52, and accurate exposure can be constantly performed. The photosensitive material 16 is released by a scraper 24, and after water is applied thereto at a water-applying part 26, it is laid upon an image-receiving material by a developing and transferring means 28, an image on the material 16 is developed, and the developed image is transferred onto the image-receiving material 32.
