Summary:PURPOSE:To inform a user of an abnormality and prevent a battery from being consumed by counting the frequency of an auxiliary drive in nonrotation and stopping a step motor when the auxiliary drive continues for a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:The output of an oscillator circuit 1 is inputted to a frequency divider 2 to be sequentially divided. The output of the frequency divider 2 is inputted to a waveform synthesis circuit 3 and a driving waveform for a step motor and a rotation detection waveform are synthesized. the synthesized driving waveform is inputted to a driving circuit 6 to drive the step motor 7. The synthesized rotation detection waveform is inputted to a rotation detection circuit 4 to detect the rotation of the step motor 7. Further, a nonrotation counting circuit 5 is provided which counts the frequency of an auxiliary drive and, when the auxiliary drive continues for a prescribed time controls the circuit 6 to stop the step motor 7. Thus, a battery can be prevented from being consumed and a user can be quickly informed of an abnormal situation.
