Summary:PURPOSE:To enable a sharp-image recording to be conducted with a color according to a color information on a recorded material by small-size mechanism, by providing a drive mans moving a heating means together with a peeling member. CONSTITUTION:An updown motor M3 is driven clockwise, whereby a thermal head 25 is rotated toward a platen 10 and pressed down agaisnt the platen 10 through a recording paper 12 and a two-color ink ribbon 1. At this time, a connecting lever 30 travels toward the platen 10 by moving a heat sink 26 in a direction B1. A peeling lever 58 is, however, forced downward and a switching-over lever 62 is forced counterclockwise by a return spring 59, therefore the peeling lever 58 is separated from the recording paper 12. Then, a carrier 22 is travelled rightward in a recording direction and the two-color ink ribbon 1 is heated with the thermal head 25 to transfer an ink layer 3b to the recording paper 12. The ink ribbon 1 is allowed to change its direction at an end portion 25b of the thermal head 25 by the take-up force of a take-up clutch 41, then being peeled from the recording paper 12. Furnishing of a drive means moving both the heating means and the peeling member enables a recording to be performed by a small-size mechanism.
