PURPOSE:To manufacture a lead storage battery reduced in the time required for its formation and in its size, by preliminarily mixing together PbO2, chemically formed in advance, and metallic lead or lead oxide of a grade lower than that of PbO2, kneading the mixture after adding water and sulfuric acid thereto and filling the said mixture into the grid of an electric collector. CONSTITUTION:Lead powder or lead oxide whose grade is lower than that of PbO2 is blended in PbO2 chemically synthesized in advance. Thereafter, water is poured therein to knead it and a preset amount of sulfuric acid is further added thereto to knead it more. This mixture is filled in the grid of an electric collector and dried to form a positive plate. On the other hand, a paste-type negative plate formed and dried is employed as the negative plate of this battery. A lead storage battery formed by combining these plates together can be reduced in the time required for its formation and in its size.
