Summary: | PURPOSE:To make the flow speed distribution of gas in a discharge part uniform and obtain a stable high output by a method wherein discharge electrodes are provided facing each other and held by electrode holders and insulating plates which have holes for transmitting a laser beam are provided at both ends of the electrode holders along the light axis. CONSTITUTION:Electrode holders 1 hold an anode 4 and cathode 4', which are discharge electrodes and provided facing each other, and are provided between resonators 2 and 2'. At the ends of the electrode holders 1 on the respective resonator sides, insulating plates 3 are attached. A hole through which a laser beam is transmitted is formed in each insulating plate 3. With this constitution, uniform gas flow speed with little fluctuation can be obtained over the whole discharge region and, as a result, the flow speed can be increased and a laser output can be increased and, at the same time, the laser oscillation can be stabilized and flickering can be eliminated. |
