Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate electrostatic charge erasing effect and an accurate black stripe generation suppressing effect on a photosensitive body by fitting a white reflecting plate to a prescribed position of a light source supporting body and forming the tip part of the white reflecting plate like a taper. CONSTITUTION:An optical part 3 is moved at the prescribed speed to expose the whole surface of an original successively. The approximately whole width area of the original and the white reflecting plate 32 are uniformly projected, the reflected light beams from these parts are temporarily converged by a lens 25 through a slit 27 and the image is formed on the surface of a photosensitive drum 51 to form an electrostatic latent image corresponding to the original image. Since light is obliquely projected to a position corresponding to a cut-off part of the white reflecting plate 32, an area forming black stripes is remarkably narrowed and the electrostatic latent image capable of approximating to white can be formed on the part corresponding to the end part of the white reflecting plate 32. Consequently, the accurate charge erasing and black stripe generating suppressing effects on the photosensitive body can be obtained.
