Summary:PURPOSE:To separate a bundle of belts into every belts, by adjacently arranging the first separating shaft having a spiral groove with a pitch being several times as larger as a belt width and the second separating shaft having a spiral groove with a pitch larger than that of the spiral groove in the first separating shaft, in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A bundle of belts 3 transferred to the first separating shaft 204 is transferred and distributed in the width direction by the rotation of the shaft 204. When the belts come to the vicinity of the boundary surface of the first separating shaft 204 to the second separating shaft 212, the stopper 227 of a piston rod in the advance direction of an escapement 220 is projected so as to stop the belts 3 is front of the vicinity of the boundary and sequentially a stopper 226 on the left side is projected between next belts so that the following belts are separated. Next, the stopper 227 is drawn and the top belt is inserted to the spiral groove of the second separating shaft, thus being transferred. Then, whether the belts are separated into every belts or not is detected by detecting sensors 228, 229, and thereafter being transferred to the following device.
