Summary:PURPOSE:To set up accurately and easily an optical axis by perforating a hole on the side walls of an optical case storing respective members constituting an optical scanner and passing light beams through the hole to attain accurate positioning of the constituting members. CONSTITUTION:The hole H is perforated on positions opposed to a laser light source 8 arranged on the side plate 7 of the optical case 4 and a light beam oscillated from the laser light source 8 is passed through the hole H and a screen 30 or the like specifying a position P to be irradiated by the light beam is arranged on the extended line of the oscillated light. The position of the laser light source 8 is adjusted so that the light L passed through the hole H is led to the position P to be irradiated by the light L. Consequently, the optical axis can be adjusted within a short period at the time of assembling and replacement.
