Summary:PURPOSE:To form an image forming lens group as a unit by fitting a lens group for forming light beams integrally with a lens frame prior to the assembling of an optical scanner to form the image forming lens unit and arranging the image forming lens unit on a prescribed position of an optical scanner as it is. CONSTITUTION:The lens frame B is set up on a lens unit assembling jig A and positioned, lens frames C, D are positioned, either one of the frames C, D is fixed with a screw and the other is roughly clamped with a screw so as to be slightly moved. The lens frames C, D are formed like steps and the lenses in the lens group 3 are successively assembled so as to be abutted upon the steps. After positioning the lens group 3, the frame roughly clamped with the screw is pressed against the fixed frame and then completely fixed. Subsequently, the lens group 3 is pressed from its upper side by a lens fixing elastic member E and fixed, so that the image forming lens unit (d) is completed and the unit (d) is set up on an optical case with screws through three optical case fitting holes G. Consequently, the image forming lens group can be formed as a unit and easily assembled or replaced.
