Summary:PURPOSE:To readily and objectively identify a microoragnism with a small amount of a microbial suspension, by suspending the test microorganism in a bouillon containing gelan gum without a salt, injecting the resultant suspension into a culture medium vessel containing a reagent component and salt, immobilizing the microorganism and judging the reagent change in the culture medium. CONSTITUTION:A specimen is applied to a separation culture medium, e.g. blood agar culture medium, etc., to carry out separating cultivation. The test microorganism is grown and cultivated in an ordinary agar culture medium, taken with a platinum loop, added and suspended in a bouillon, containing gelan gum and substantially without a salt. The suspension is then injected into a culture medium vessel containing a reagent component and salt to promote the gelation of the gelan gum an solidify the culture medium in the presence of the salt. The change in the reagent is judged in the formed solid culture medium and identify the microorganism.
