PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in the specific resistance of a liquid crystal with lapse of time (decrease of the resistance) by incorporating pulverized powder having adsorptive power into the liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal 9 contg. the pulverized adsorptive powder is sealed into the liquid crystal. Silica gel sized about 1mum is used for the pulverized adsorptive powder and is incorporated into the liquid crystal at 5wt% by the weight of the liquid crystal. Since the pulverized powder having the adsorptive power is incorporated into the liquid crystal in the above-mentioned manner, the impurities such as water introducing from the outside through a sealing part, etc., are adsorbed to the pulverized powder upon entering and the contamination of the liquid crystal itself is prevented. The liquid crystal display element which is free from the deterioration with lapse of time is thus obtd.
