Summary:PURPOSE:The titled composition, obtained by blending an epoxy resin with a polycarboxylic acid anhydride, phenolic antioxidant and reducing organic phosphorus compound having a specific structural formula (which are liquid at room temperature or have a low melting point), etc., and capable of giving colorless and transparent cured articles having improved heat resistance. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by blending (A) an epoxy resin with (B) a polycarboxylic acid anhydride, (C) a curing accelerator, (D) a reducing organic phosphorus compound expressed by the formula (R1-R8 are H, halogen, 1-10C monofunctional aliphatic or aromatic group; R9 is 4-20C monofunctional aliphatic group), e.g. 10-decyloxy-9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-phosphophenanthrene, etc., and (E) a phenolic antioxidant, e.g. 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methyl-phenol, etc. The amounts of the components based on the total amount of the components (A)-(C) are as follows; 0.05-5.0wt% component (D) and 0.05-2.5wt% compo nent (E). The components (A)-(E) are liquid at room temperature or have <=80 deg.C melting point.
