Summary:PURPOSE:To ensure excellent resistance to erosion as well as high productivity and reliability by joining an erosion shield plate made of beta type Ti alloy with the tip end section of a turbine blade locating at the steam inlet port side by way of Ti family filler metal. CONSTITUTION:In a turbine blade 1 made of Ti-6Al-4V locating at the final stage of a steam turbine on the steam inlet port side, an erosion shield plate 3 made of Ti-15Mo-5Zr is joined with the tip end section by way of Ti family filler metal 2. In this case, a joint surface 4 to the erosion shield plate 3 is machined out of the tip end section of the turbine blade 1 locating at the steam inlet port side, besides, the joint surface 4 is partitioned into a plurality of band zones 4a which extend to the direction normal to the axial line of the turbine blade 1, and a step 4b is formed at the adjacent section to respective band zones 4a simultaneously. On the other hand, a joint surface 3a which is engaged with respective sections 4a and 4b of the joint surface 4, is formed in the inner surface of the erosion shield plate 3.
