Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent abnormal fuel outflow from a fuel injection valve to sharply improve its safety by providing a valve device to supply fuel to the fuel injection valve with a valve member to shut off a fuel supply passage and a position adjusting mechanism to change the displacement of the said valve member. CONSTITUTION:A valve device 30 is arranged on a fuel supply passage 32 to supply the fuel to a fuel injection valve 1. The valve device 30 is provided with a valve member 34 which moves as far as a fixed quantity to shut off the fuel supply passage 32 when the fuel more than its set quantity flows into an engine combustion chamber 8. In addition, a position adjusting mechanism 31 to change the displacement of the valve member 34 according to an engine load signal is provided to variably adjust the quantity of fuel outflow according to variation in the engine load. Thus, abnormal fuel outflow into the combustion chamber at abnormal time can be prevented to sharply improve safety.
