PURPOSE:The titled composition suppressing reduction in beautifying effects resulting from oxidation and deterioration of water-soluble ascorbic acid, obtained by dispersing powder comprising a water-soluble ascorbic acid as an essential component into an oil, packing the dispersion into water-resistant capsules and blending a water-containing cosmetic with the capsules. CONSTITUTION:Powder comprising a water-soluble ascorbic acid such as l- ascorbic acid and/or its water-soluble salt, especially sodium salt, as an essential component, is dispersed into an oil such as liquid paraffin, purified olive oil, purified mink oil, etc., to give a composition, which is packed into water- resistant capsules (preferably capsules having the longest outer diameter of 5mm and the shortest outer diameter of 0.5mm, each capsule existing independently, preferably spherical or elliptic capsules having about 1-3mm outer diameter). A water-containing cosmetic such as toilet lotion, milky lotion, cream, face cleaning cream, pack, etc., is blended with the capsules, to give the titled composition capable of keeping beautifying effects for a long time without causing oxidation and deterioration of water-soluble ascorbic acids.
