Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the hardware quantity in the distance calculation than that of a conventional system and prevent a succeeding frame from being connected erroneously to other information string by rewriting a distance display field and sending a frame generated newly while the frame is interrupted in a frame string of a transmission line. CONSTITUTION:When an outgoing frame of a node exists in a generated buffer, an outgoing frame is selected by a selector 110 and sent with priority. In this case, the distance at the node arrival and the distance at transmission differ, which requires distance calculation. For the distance calculation, values stored in an arrival distance buffer 112, a delay time count buffer 113 and a transmission frame history buffer 111 are used. The arrival distance buffer 112 is a first-in first-out (FIFO) buffer storing the distance of the relay frame (relayed low priority frame) at the arrival and a distance is shifted every time a relay low priority frame is sent. Further, a value representing a distance information error frame is stored in the corresponding address of the transmission frame history buffer 111.
