Summary:PURPOSE:To enable a superfine deep hole to be electric discharge machined, by providing a wire cut part, which continuously forms a tool electrode, and supporting it to an electrode supporter made of ceramic. CONSTITUTION:A feed mechanism 3 feeds a tool electrode 2 to a work 1 to be controlled so that a fixed gap is obtained. Said electrode 2, comprising a large size part 2b and a small sized part 2a, provides in their boundary a wire cutting wire 5 horizontally running. And a pulse of negative polarity is supplied from a power supply unit 15, forming the large size part 2b of the rotary driven electrode 2 to be machined into the small sized part 2a. Simultaneously with the machining of said small sized part 2a, a machine, supplying a pulse of positive polarity to the small sized part 2a from a power supply unit 11, performs hole machining for the work 1. A circular electrode supporter 4 made of ceramic is provided in the small sized part 2a, correctly holding the electrode 2. The machine controls a diameter of the small sized part 2a by suitably regulating wire cutting.
