Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent metals from corroding or rusting through action of the amine of an epoxy resin-amine compsn., by adding lecithin to the compsn. CONSTITUTION:An antirust adhesive prepd. by adding lecithin to an epoxy resin-amine compsn. Pref., lecithin is added in an amt. of 1-15wt% based on the wt% of the compsn. When the lecithin amt. is less than 1wt%, the adhesive is poor in antirust properties. When the lecithin amt. is more than 15wt%, the adhesive decreases the cohesive force and adhesion properties. A liq. epoxy resin having at least 1.7 glycidyl groups per molecule on the average is pref. from the viewpoint of workability, A polyamide resin is a suitable amine from the viewpoints of workability and performance. Lecithin chemically means phosphatidylcholine. Industrially, however, it means a compsn. separated from a vegetable oil, e.g., soybean oil, viz. a mixed lipid of several kinds of phospholipids and a triglyceride which lipid is commercially available as a soybean phospholipid product.
