Summary:PURPOSE:A specific quinazoline derivative as an antihypertensive is uniformly mixed with a polymeric base material of hydrophilic cellulose to give a durative preparation which shows an almost constant releasing behavoir and permits effective treatment by once-a-day application. CONSTITUTION:Preferably, 4-amino-2-[ 4-bicyclo[ 2.2.2 ]oct-2-ene-5-endocarbon yl]-1-piperazinyl]-16,7-dimethoxyqui nazoline of the formula of 0.1-15wt% is mixed with a hydrophilic cellulose of 30-60wt%, synthetic aluminum silicate as a compression auxiliary of 2-10wt%, and they are subjected to compression molding to give the objective durative preparation. The hydrophilic cellulose is preferably that having a solution viscosity of 6-400cps which is measured using 2W/V% aqueous solution at 20 deg.C. The phamaceutical preparation has been made on the basis of the knowledge that the hydrophilic cellulose is very good as a polymeric base of slow release properties.
