Summary:PURPOSE:To lower connection resistance, to operate a conductor stably and to inhibit cooling power to a low value by constituting a helical coil of a module coil, which is divided into the plural in the longitudinal direction and joined and separated freely, and forming a joining section for the coil to a rectilinear section shape in predetermined length rectangular to the equatorial plane of a torus. CONSTITUTION:A helical coil 5 consists of a plurality (sixteen) of module coils 8 in the longitudinal direction, and the axial end surfaces of the coils 8 are assembled in a joining and separation-free manner. Joining sections for the coils 8 have rectilinear sections 9 rectangular to the equatorial planes of tori, and length thereof is brought to 0.2 or less of the small radius of the helical coil 5. Consequently, breakdown by the mismatching magnetic field of a magnetic surface in a magnetic field region effective for confining plasma is prevented. The joining sections are formed from joints 12, 13 by male and female joining structure, thus lowering connection resistance, then stably operating a conductor while also inhibiting cooling power required to a low value.
