Summary: | PURPOSE:To prepare a novel alcoholic product in a short time, by extracting the aboveground part or underground root of a vegetable widely known to have physiological and pharmacological usefulness, separating a fructose-containing extract therefrom, adding distilled liquor thereto, and aging the mixture. CONSTITUTION:The above ground part (fruit, SHIITAKE, polypore, etc.) or the underground root (e.g. rhizome of Panax ginseng, bulb of garlic, etc.) of a vegetable known to have physiological or pharmaceutical usefulness or at least to be harmless, is mixed with or immersed in crystalline fructose or liquid fructose to obtain a fructose- containing vegetable extract taking advantage of the impregnating and water-absorbing activity of fructose. The extract or its mixture is added with distilled liquor and aged to obtain an alcohlic product. Compared with the process to make an alcoholic drink directly from the vegetable, the preparation time of the present process preparing a fructose-containing extract as an intermediate is shortened to 1/2. The process has excellent economicity and productivity, and since the obtained extract is free from alcohol, it is suitable for the production in foreign countries, and the product can be freely imported or exported. |
