Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of a noxious waste solution as small as possible, by injecting a washing slurry containing a solid particle having specific gravity larger than that of a residual cake from the part in the vicinity of the filtrate discharge port in a machine and substituting the same with the residual cake by centrifugal separation. CONSTITUTION:The washing slurry, which was injected from a washing slurry supply pipe 5 having a pipe 4 supplying a slurry to be separated coaxially enclosed therein and opened in the side near to a filtrate discharge port 71, has specific gravity larger than that of the solid component of a residual cake 2. Therefore, said sand has a high sedimentation speed and sedimented within the residual cake 2 inside a rotary bowl 7 by centrifugal force and, therefore, pushes up the residual cake 2 to be substituted therewith. Therefore, said sand has a high sedimentation speed and sedimented within the residual cake 2 to be substituted therewith. The pushed-up cake 2 is scraped by a screw 64 and discharged from a solid discharge port 72. The discharged solid gradually comes to the mixture with sand from the residual cake and comprises only sand at last.
