Summary:PURPOSE:To protect the spud of a working ship by reducing the load of the spud by a method in which a buffer device is provided between the spud and a spud keeper, and the buffer device is designed to be worked or not worked according to water depth. CONSTITUTION:A buffer device 17 is attached in a link form to the inner surface of the lower spud keeper 16, like the upper spud keeper. A supporter 18 not to work the buffer device 17 by narrowing the clearance between the spud keeper 16 and the spud 2 is detachably provided for the fitting portion of the device 17. The supporter 18 is attached or detached on the basis of about 12m water depths, and the device 17 is worked at deep water depth but not worked at sharrow water depth. The rocking movement of the hull can be relieved even at any water depth, and the displacement of spud keeper and the load of the spud can be reduced.
