Summary: | PURPOSE:To prevent a magnetic tape from being scratched without performing any special working on the corner section of a magnetic tape guiding cylinder, by setting the length of the opening of a notched part for fitting head in the cylinder rotating direction in a range of length, within which the edge of the opening does not contact with the magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:In order to prevent a magnetic head 2 provided on a supporting body 3 from contacting and interfering with a magnetic tape, a notched part 4 is provided in the end face 13 of a magnetic tape guiding cylinder 1. By means of this notched part 4, the length of an opening 5 formed in the outer peripheral surface 1A of the cylinder 1 along the peripheral surface 1A is set in such a degree that the corner 4A of the notched part 4 does not contact with a magnetic tape. If it is considered that the rigidity of a magnetic tape T is small, position of the tape T can be expressed by a straight line contacting with both magnetic head 2 and cylinder 1 and, when the length of the opening 5 is set to L<b, contact between the magnetic tape T and the corner 4A of the notched part 4 can be prevented. Therefore, the magnetic tape can be prevented from being scratched without performing any special working on the corner section of the cylinder. |
