Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having an excellent electromagnetic characteristic, dynamic characteristic and durability by using a specific polyurethane (meth)acrylate binder as a binder for pulverous ferromagnetic powder and irradiating electron beams there to form a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. which consists of the compd. expressed by the formula (A is the residual group of the compd. having >=1 acryloyl groups or methacryloyl groups, DI is the residual group of org. diisocyanate having a benzene ring or cyclohexane ring, B is the residual group contg. >=5mol% dihydric alcohol of >=1 kinds selected from trimethylene glycol, propylene glycol, tetramethylene glycol, neopentyl glycol and hexane diol, C is the residual group of >=1 kinds selected from adipic acid, sebacic acid, cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid, phthalic acid, isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid, m is 1-7 in average and n is 2-7 in average) and the compd. of n is 0 and in which the (meth)acryloyl group in 1g is >=0.001g and <=0.0025g equiv. is used as the binder for the magnetic powder. Electron beams are irradiated on such binder, by which the magnetic recording medium having the excellent running durability, etc. is thus obtd.
