Summary:PURPOSE:To manufacture an iron alloy having superior corrosion resistance without adding elements for improving corrosion resistance such as P, Cu and Cr by reducing the amounts of Si, Mn and S in Fe. CONSTITUTION:The corrosion resistance of an iron alloy is improved by reducing the amounts opf Si, Mn and S as impurities to <=0.10% Si, <=0.05% Mn and <=0.01% S even when the amounts of P, Cu and Cr as elements for improving corrosion resistance are <=0.01% P, <=0.05% Cu, <=0.01% Cr and <=0.05% in total. An iron alloy having further improved corrosion resistance can be obtd. by adding <0.30% P, <0.25% Cu and <0.01% Cr to an iron alloy contg. said small amounts of impurities such as Si, Mn and S.
