Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent incapableness of interlocking by forming a thin part in the extreme end part of a screw tooth and rotating a shaft at low speed until completion of interlocking between a screw gear and a toothed wheel in the captioned turing device which drives the toothed wheel of a turbine shaft through the screw gear. CONSTITUTION:In the capationed turning device which drives a toothed wheel 1, provided on a turbine shaft, into rotation through a screw gear 2 of a driving shaft 5, a thin part K is formed on the extreme end part of the screw gear 2. Then a detection device (metal fixture 9 and a noncontact switch 16), detecting position of the thin part, is provided. After turning start is directed, when the noncontact type switch 16 detects concavity and convexity J, L of the fixture 9 and sends a signal to a transfer device 6, the screw gear 2 is tranferred on the shaft 5. Subsequently, the signal is sent toa selector valve 14 to make a push rod 13 of a cylinder 10 periodically appear so that the metal fixture 9 is pushed into rotation. When the screw gear 2 is completely interlocked with the toothed wheel 1, a driving device 8 operates to put the turbine shaft into rotation.
