Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the water-dilutability of an aq. alkyd resin remarkably, by blending an aq. alkyd resin with a condensate of a maleic anhydride adduct of an unsaturated fatty acid with an arom. ring-contg. polyol. CONSTITUTION:The titled compsn. contains at least the following components A and B in a quantity of 0.2-100pts.wt. component B per 100pts.wt. component A. Component A is an aq. alkyl resin. Component B is a condensate of a maleic anhydride adduct of an unsaturated fatty acid with an arom. ring-contg. polyol. Preferred examples of the unsaturated fatty acids are dienoic acids, among which octadecadienoic acid is particularly preferred. Said polyol is an alkylene oxide adduct of a polyhydric alcohol. Examples of the polyhydric alcohols are bisphenol A and catechol. Examples of the alkylene oxides are ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. |
