Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a glass vessel at a low cost, by aligning the outer edges of a pair of glass plates coated with releasing agent, fixing the glass plates with molten soldering glass and removing the drooling glass easily from the outer edge of the glass plate. CONSTITUTION:A layer of a releasing agent 6 effective to prevent the welding of glass plates and produced by adding water glass and a spreading agent to fine powder of carbon black is applied to the outer edge of the lower glass plate 2 of a pair of glass plates 1, 2 or to the edges of both glass plates 1, 2. The edges are aligned, a molten soldering glass 50 is applied to the surface of the glass plate 2 along its outer circumference, and the glass plate 1 is placed thereon. The soldering glass 5 between the glass plates 1, 2 is baked to effect the fixing of both glass plates 1, 2 and the sealing of the inside of the plates. The glass pieces 51 drooling from the outer edge are broken and removed to obtain a glass vessel having a desired outer dimension.
