Summary: | PURPOSE:To omit an erase head by providing the auxiliary magnetic poles at both sides of a track part together with layers magnetized toward the surface of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole 5 is a metallic thin film of 'Permalloy(R)', etc. having high saturated magnetic flux density and high permeability. The lower end face 51 of the pole 5 has the function for record/reproduction against a magnetized layer 2 of a recording medium 1. While the upper end face of the pole 5 is joined to a horizontal bar 60 of an adverse L-shaped auxiliary magnetic pole 6 made of a high permeability material like ferrite, etc. The lower end face 62 of the vertical bar of the pole 6 has a large area then the face 51 and set at both sides of a signal track part 10 recorded by the pole 5 and enclosing this part 10. Thus a magnetic path 9 forms a closed path passing through a high permeability layer 3 with high efficiency in both record and reproduction modes. |
