Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the extent of volumerical efficiency as well as to make a powerful swirl generable even in time of low speed running, by making one side of double suction ports serve as a normally opening partial helical port and the other side as a closing pure helical port, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Suction ports 2 and 3 are formed in each cylinder chamber 1 side by side in a parallel direction A with a suction valve gear cam shaft 5. At this time, when a flow direction of a suction swirl to be produced inside the sylinder chamber 1 is set down to B, the suction port 2 situated at the windward side is formed into a pure helical port to kill a direct component of a suction air flow while the suction port 3 situated at the leeward side into a partially helical port to keep the direct component of the suction air flow alive, respectively, whereby they are formed so as to be connected to an inner wall surface of a cylinder in a connecting direction. Then, a rest valve 81 of a port resting device is installed in this pure helical port 2, and at the time of low speed running, this port 2 is made so as to be closed.
