Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the great reduction of the reproduction output at a dip point by forming the action gaps of the magnetic recording/reproduction tracks at least in two types. CONSTITUTION:An action gap 3 contains the 1st narrow action gap width part 3a and the 2nd wide action gap width part 3b together with a core 1 cut at its single edge side. While a recording reproduction track 2 includes the 1st and 2nd recording/reproduction track width parts 2a and 2b corresponding to said parts 2a and 2b respectively. No dip point is formed at the part 3b with the wavelength by which a dip point is formed at the part 3a. Thus the reproduction of output is possible. In the same way, no dip point is formed at the part 3a with the wavelength by which a dip point is formed at the part 3b. Thus it is possible to obtain a magnetic head which produces no dip point at a using band.
