Summary:PURPOSE:To execute a measurement with a high accuracy and easily by measuring the squareness by only an auto collimator placed so as to be opposed to an angle placed between the first and the second planes. CONSTITUTION:An auto collimator (AC) 5 is placed so as to be opposed to an angle placed between the first and the second planes 1, 2, and parallel rays 3, 4 are irradiated. In this state, an absolute value of a squareness alpha is derived from a difference 2alpha of display values of an image 3a and 4a of a cross line of reflected lights 3', 4' which are reflected by the second and the first planes 2, 1 from the first and the second planes and formed in the AC 5. Accordingly, by using only the AC 5, the absolute value of the squareness alpha of the angle placed between the first and the second planes 1, 2 can be measured with a high accuracy and easily.
