Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce an apparatus in size by rotating a shielding plate provided between one paper feed roller and paper feed cassettes disposed in the periphery of the paper feed roller in the periphery of the paper feed roller, thereby to intercept paper feeding from a paper feed cassette not used. CONSTITUTION:Paper feed cassettes 2, 3 are installed in the periphery of a paper feed roller 1, and a shielding plate 4 disposed between the paper feed roller 1 and paper feed cassettes 2, 3 comprises two wing-like plates adapted to rotate in the periphery of the paper feed roller 1. When one shielding plate 4 is brought into contact with the paper feed cassette 2, the other shielding plate 4 is stopped out of contact with the paper feed cassette 3. Accordingly, when one of the shielding plates 4 is located between the paper feed roller 1 and the paper cassette 2, paper is not fed out from the paper feed cassette 2, and paper is fed out only from the paper feed cassette 3. In case of manually feeding paper, a manual feed plate is mounted on the upper cover of the paper feed cassette 3.
