Summary:PURPOSE:To enable formation of a thin chain case, by a method wherein the forward end of a forward and reverse rotating chain tension is brought into contact with the slope of the inner end of an interlocking body externally engaged rockably around the axis of an output sprocket. CONSTITUTION:An output sprocket 12 is attached within a side chain case 7, and a chain 13 is run around an input sprocket 9 and the output sprocket 12. A chain tension 15 for forward rotation is forced into contact with the left side of the chain 13, and a chain tension 17 for reversing is forced into contact with the right side. A central externally-engaging part 21 of an interlocking body 23, formed along the outer periphery of the output sprocket 12, is engaged externally of a lower baring part 10, and the forward ends of tensions 15 and 17 are brought into contact with slopes 18 and 19 of an inner end surface. This enables the chain to be automatically stretched, and eliminates coupling of the two tensions through the force of a spring, resulting in the possibility to reduce the thickness of a case.
