Summary:PURPOSE:To improve an efficiency of heat exchanging operation and reduce the probability of occurrence of air leakage by a method wherein concave plate portions are integrally formed at both sides of the bent and folded portion at a central part of the core plate, the plates are bent and folded to each other to form a unit and further are laminated and brazed in a furnace. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum plate having at both front and rear surfaces claded brazing material of 10% or so is made by a first pressing step such that core plates 1 having a pair of plates 2 provided with cup-shaped projections 4 and 5, flange part 8, flat surface 11 forming tube, an outer circumference 10 and ribs 12 and 13 are integrally formed. A wedge-shaped press is applied to the bent and folded part 3 at the central part of the core plates 1 to bend and fold the same, to make a complete overlapping of the outer circumferences 10. Both sides of the bent and folded parts 3 are applied with a pressing operation to make a close and complete fitting of the bent and folded portions 3. A plurality of tube units 14 welded and press-fitted at several points of the outer circumference 10 other than the overlapped bent and folded portions 3 are arranged in parallel to each other, corrugated fins 21 are inserted between the tubes 16 and then they are place in a furnace and integrally brazed in it to make a connection of each of the parts.
