Summary: | PURPOSE:To produce a multiple-purpose gas at low cost, by feeding a substance containing C and H2 to an upright oven in which a temperature gradient is formed upward from the ignition zone of a coke packing layer to allow it to gasify. CONSTITUTION:A coke is fed from the top of an upright oven 2 through a raw material feeding apparatus 4 to form a packing layer 1. A gas containing oxygen is fed from a tuyere 5 located at the bottom of the oven 2 to form an ignition zone in the coke packing layer 1 while a high temp. coke layer having a temp. gradient from the ignition zone toward the top of the oven is formed. A substance containing C and H2 is fed into the coke packing layer 1 through the apparatus 4 in the case of a solid or through a plurality of nozzles 6, 7 provided on the belly of the oven in the case of a liquid or powder where the substance is converted into a fuel gas or a process gas by means of the high-temp. coke. The produced gas is discharged from the discharging tube 3. |
