PURPOSE:To read a drawing written by a free hand and to obtain a sharp drawing such as a relay sequence diagram and an electronic circuit diagram by calculating the average coordinate to a node at every group and changing its average coordinate to the coordinate of the node belonging to the group. CONSTITUTION:A drawing 17 written by a free hand is converted into a binary data in a drawing input section 1 and stored in an image memory 2. In a graphic processing section 3, from the binary data of the memory 2, a node table 4 is formed. In an average coordinate calculating section 7, an average value is calculated from respective coordinate of a node group. In a fixed point detecting section 8, whether the coordinate which cannot be moved but fixed in the node groups exists or not is detected. When the fixed node is detected, all nodes of the group to which the node belongs are fixed to the same coordinate of the fixed node. In a symbol fixing processing section 9, the coordinate of the symbol is moved by the moving amount of a connecting point. In a connecting point fixing processing section 11, with respect to plural connecting points to which the symbol belongs, a processing for moving the coordinate is executed.
