Summary:PURPOSE:To increase supercharging pressure and improve output by making natural suction into an engine cylinder through a supercharger cylinder, and controlling closing timing for the natural suction by means of the rotor of the supercharger cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Natural suction into an engine cylinder M is made through a supercharger cylinder N, and closing timing for the natural suction is controlled by means of the rotor 12 of the supercharger cylinder N. In this case, the inlet port 17 and communicating path 14 of the supercharger cylinder N are simultaneously closed by the rotor 12 of the above cylinder N. Consequently, since suction gas is fed into the compression working chamber 8 of an engine cylinder M through the suction working chamber 7 of the supercharger cylinder N, the working chambers 7, 8 of both the cylinders N, M are cut together off from the air when the inlet port 17 has been closed by the rotor 12. In sddion, when the rotor 12 of the supercharger cylinder N approaches the upper dead center of compression stroke, the rotor 13 of the engine cylinder M closes the lower end 16b of a supercharging path 16, and thus supercharging process has been over. Fuel is ignited and burned after this time, and the exhaust gas is discharged through the exhaust path of the engine cylinder M.
