Summary:PURPOSE:To increase the error detection accuracy for the set angle of inclination of a magnetic medium, by installing the 1st and 2nd pulse generating circuits to deliver the detection pulse having a prescribed pulse duration in accordance with the read pulse which is produced at the magnetization reversing position of each track. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic information of a magnetic medium which is recorded magnetically in the 2-track NRZI system is detected by a mobile magnetic head, and the read pulse is applied to the lines 18 and 20. The read pulse is applied to the line 18 with every information of logic 0; and the read pulse is applied to the line 20 with every information of logic 1, respectively. The read pulses corresponding to 0 and 1 and applied to the lines 18 and 20 are sent to the monostable multivibrator 22, NAND circuit 28, monostable multivibrator 24 and NAND circuit 26, respectively. The circuits 26 and 28 check whether both the read pulse supplied from one track and the detection pulse given from the pulse generating circuit corresponding to the other track are generated in overlap or not. Then a set position error signal is delivered in the case of the overlap secured between both pulses.
