Summary:PURPOSE:To attain to enhance not only the effective utilization efficiency of uranium vapor but also the concn. capacity thereof, by limiting the evaporation of metal uranium vapor due to an atomic method using metal uranium. CONSTITUTION:A crucible 4 for evaporating metal uranium 5 by laser beam 22 generated from the laser apparatus 21 arranged outside a separation cell 15 is formed in the separation cell 15 so as to be made tall, that is, deep in the advance direction of metal uranium vapor beam to stabilize the advance direction of uranium vapor beam and window 23, 24 for permitting the passage of laser beam 22 are provided to the side walls of the separation cell 15 and the crucible 4. Further, the side wall of the crucible 4 for controlling atomic beam is formed of a parabolic surface and the evaporation part of metal uranium is positioned at the focus of the parabolic surface. As a result, the amount of excited and ionized metal uranium vapor increases and the effective utilization efficiency of uranium vapor is enhanced, therefore, the concn. degree of U is enhanced and the separation capacity of U and U is enhanced.
