Summary:PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure moisture regardless of the thickness of a specimen, by simultaneously measuring the volume and thickness of the specimen to calculate the product of both measured values. CONSTITUTION:The product of the volume CX and thickness TX of a specimen are proportional to moisture MX. The specimen is held between micrometer type parallel plate electrodes to simultaneously measure the volume CX and the thickness TX and CXXTX is indicated by a measuring device. For example, in order to measure the volume CX of low impedance shown by the equivalent circuit of a drawing (B) regardless of the value of a resistor RX, the circuit of a drawing (C) is used. In this circuit, the output current Igc of a detector P is 0 under the condition of formula. In this state, the specimen is connected to a capacitor C2V in parallel by a switch S. If the capacity C2V is reduced and the current Igc is again set to 0, the volume CX can be calculated from CX=C2VD-C2VX (wherein C2VD is the dial degree of a capacitor C1V when a switch 4S is opened and C2VX is the dial degree of the capacitor C2V bringing the current Igc to 0 when a switch S is closed).
