Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent generation of shock by using an accumulator and thereby precluding the line pressure from rising immediately after a speed change. CONSTITUTION:As back pressure, the line pressure Pl or its modulator pressure is supplied to the back pressure port 66 of an accumulator 60. As the servo oil pressure Pc2 rises slowly because of the accumulator 60, the line pressure Pl and the servo oil pressures Pb3, Pc2 under influence thereof can also rise slowly. This can prevent the servo oil pressure Pc2 in the early period of shift range N R from overrising, which will relieve torque variation on the output shaft of the automatic transmission concerned as well as suppress the shock due to speed change.
