Summary: | NEW MATERIAL:An antitumor protein polyglycoside DH-6665 comprising D-glucose (G) and D-mannose (M) in the glucide moiety at a ratio of (G) to (M) of 2:1, and glycine, alanine, glutamic acid, and dicyanopimelic acid in the protein moiety, readily soluble in water, soluble in formamide, and slightly soluble in DMSO. Elementary analysis: C, 35-43%; H, 4.8-6.4%; N, 0.5-2.5%, free from halogen and S. Molecular weight: 10,000-300,000. Specific rotatory power: [alpha]D = +30-+70 deg.. USE:Antitumor agents capable of promoting the immunity of hosts. PROCESS:Microellobosporia grisea strains (IFO-12518) are cultured in a liquid medium at 28-37 deg.C, and the objective substance is collected from the filtrate, and purified by gel filtration to give the antitumor protein polyglycoside DH-6665. |
