Summary:PURPOSE:To perform address conversion at a high speed and to improve the system performance by providing an area conversion table and a page conversion table and using them as address conversion tables different from each other. CONSTITUTION:The area conversion table is held in an area conversion memory 40, and the page conversion table is held in a page conversion memory 43, and they are used as address conversion tables different from each other. That is, in case of the address conversion from a logical address to an actual address, information related to the page conversion table corresponding to an area number of the logical address is selected form the area conversion table. A page address of an actual memory is selected from the page conversion table in accordance with this information and the page number of the logical address. This page address and an intra-page relative address of the logical address are connected to obtain the actual memory address; and thus, the address conversion is performed at a high speed, and the system performance is improved.
