Summary: | PURPOSE:To effectively perform the function for suppressing the starting current of a motor and compensating the variation in a high voltage power source by connecting single-phase transistor inverters in series to form a polyphase inverter. CONSTITUTION:The AC outputs of single-phase transistor inverters 1, 2, 3 connected with divided filter capacitors C1-C3 operate with the phase difference of 120 deg., a 3-phase AC power source is composed as a whole, and individual AC output terminals are connected directly with the U, V and W phases of armature windings of a compressor driving motor CM and a fan driving motor FM. Transistor inverters 1-3 are PWM-controlled so that a VVVF control is performed so that the ratio of V/F becomes substantially equal, the rotating speed of the motor CM is altered to operate at the speed matched to the capacity required for an air conditioner. |
