Summary:PURPOSE:To enable printing and plotting on large paper by a small apparatus, by scanning a movable electrophotographic printing head and outputting plurally separated images. CONSTITUTION:A head 1 is moved to the left end and a recording sheet 7 is stopped in such a state that the supply leading end thereof is grasped by feed rollers 8. Next, a worm gear 2 is driven to allow the head 1 to scan from the right end to the left end at a constant speed. A photosensitive drum 21 is rotated and tumbled on the sheet 7 to the direction shown by the arrow and, simultaneously with said scanning, a signal of an image to be recorded is inputted to as LED array 23 to transfer an image onto the sheet 7. A transfer means 12 moves at a speed equal to that of the head 1 to always press the sheet 7 to a photosensitive body 12 and a strip like partial image of which the width corresponds to the length of a first time drum 21. Subsequently, the head 1 and the transfer means 12 are moved to the left end to feed the sheet 7 by the width recorded by the previous scanning to repeat the same operation. By the output of divided images as mentioned above, the apparatus is miniaturized and reduced in its wt as a whole and printing and plotting over the entire surface of large paper are enabled.
